This day has been a shocker for me.

And when I say that I mean it. Today I went in for my doctor’s appointment with the neurologist.
That was an eye opener. Really.
The doctor and me went over everything that has happened with my migraines and how they have changed. We went over what happened when I went to the hospital last week and all the symptoms and why I thought it had happened.
Basically, he told me I had had a small stroke.
…
…
Yes you read that right. I am 20 years old and I had a stroke.
The doctor went over everything with me saying that the combination of my smoking, using birth control and the migraine medications I was taking just pushed me to an outrageously high risk of a stroke. So I have cut out the birth control for now, no more migraine medications (or at least any triptans) and I have decided to quit smoking when I go home for Christmas break around December 18th.
But to make sure this won’t happen again on a larger scale, I have to get an MRI done, and on the 8th I have to go in for an echocardiogram and then get hooked up with some kind of heart monitor/harness deal that will monitor my heart for 24 hours. Just to make sure that all the arteries are clear and there’s no blockage anywhere, because I do not need a repeat of this happening.
So I was a little panicked after coming out of that doctors appointment. Thank the gods Missy was there to keep me laughing and to help me not have a complete panic attack.
I have another appointment with my regular doctor on Monday to go over some blood tests that I had done last week. Hopefully these tests will come back with something conclusive. I’m sick of having something wrong with me and no one being able to tell me what it is.
Is it weird to say that at this point, I would rather be told something is seriously wrong instead of just being told everything is normal?
*sigh*
But after that bit of depressing news I can still be happy because I am going home this weekend
I can’t wait to see my family and Kai. I can’t wait to just be home.
So all in all it was a crazy day, hopefully this weekend will be a little more relaxing.
That’s all for now people.
Later days!
This weekend I’m going home

I’ve been horrible about blogging consistently I know but sometimes there is just nothing to talk about. Today I happen to have something to talk about so let me share
First I should write that I woke up at 4 in the morning yesterday with horrible cramps (TMI I know but I’s part of the story, promise) so I took one of my cramp pills called Naproxen, which is a muscle relaxant. Then I promptly went back to sleep and forgot about it.
LATER ON THAT DAY.
I went to the doctors and got a new medication for my migraines called Replax. This is one of the newer, and supposedly better, migraine drugs out there right now. I took it around 230-300 I think. I went on with the rest of my day, my migraine was pretty much gone, and then around 10-1030 last night something happened.
First I had an extremely sharp pain in my right eye followed by blurry vision in that eye as well. I would have ignored that except I wanted to call the TeleHealth line just to make sure that this was normal for the drug and nothing serious. Well I called and listed out all of my symptoms (flushed, severe eye pain, severe pain in right temple, feel sluggish and brain feels funtioning slower, blurriess in right eye, nausea) and the nurse on the line said “Ok so I’m now transferring this call to 911 to get you an ambulance because something sounds like it could be seriously wrong. Well Mr. Nurse, I’m not paying $45 for an ambulance so I’ll just call my friend and get a cab thanks. So first I went downstairs for a smoke because I didn’t seem to be having any major problems at this point that would make me rush any faster to the hospital and called home to let MM and DD know what was going on. About halfway through the call with DD my speech started slurring considerably and the right side of my face went numb.
Not a good sign people, not a good sign at all.
So I ended the call with DD and texted Missy and over she came with a cab. While I was waiting for her to get to my house 3 fingers on my right hand went numb. We got to the hospital, checked in, and waited in the ER for about 3 and a half hours! I could have been having a serious reaction that could have become permanent! I didn’t but it still could have happened. My symptoms eventually started getting better and by the time they called me back to a room I was almost entirely back to normal. Me and Missy at this point, were absolutely losing our minds. We haven’t slept, we haven’t eaten, we’ve barely been able to make it out for smokes. After waiting another 3 and a half hours and seeing my doctor for a max of 10 minutes and getting a CT scan done of my head, they tell me everything is fine and that I should follow up with a stroke prevention clinic because I have a lot of risk factors apparently.
By the time Missy and I got out we were delirious almost from our lack of sleep, we hadn’t eaten in almost 16 hours, so we caught a cab to the McDonald’s and ate like pigs. I won’t even tell you how much we ate because you would be disgusted with us. But let me tell you, it was some of the most delicious food I’ve had in my entire life. We caught the bus home and, after I sent out emails to my teachers and some groupmates that I wouldn’t be in, sent Kai a message on MSN letting him know I was fine, I promptly passed out and didn’t wake up until about an hour ago.
Weird night man, weeeeeird night.
And I also have to write down that Missy is HILARIOUS when she is at the hospital. Seriously funny, and even funnier when she has had no sleep. Thank you Missy for coming with me!!!
So that’s my story for now, I’m fine it seems, and my doctor never even explained what could have happened to me. I didn’t like her at all, but oh well.
Later days all!
Bloody Hell…

it’s been forever since my last post it seems. I don’t know why I am slacking off so much with my blogging but I am. Not a lot has happened. I went home for break week 2 weeks ago and had a blast. I hung out with the fam and the boy and had lots of fun. Then last week I had a lot of homework that I DID get done, I may have procrastinated a little bit, but I got it done. Last weekend I hung out with MM and my grandparents. We went out to dinner with old family friends (DD was supposed to go but Camera got sick and couldn’t go camping like planned so he had to stay home with DD.. I was MM’s date for the night LOL).
And this week has started off a little crazy (I left my news story until the last minute as well as my story for the e-zine.. I’m horrible I know) but I’m hoping the week will pass by less crazy now. *crosses fingers and toes*
Other than that, health wise I’m good. I haven’t had any severe problems minus my knee which, I swear, is going to dislocate just to spite me. Oh well, there’s not much I can do but try and remember to wear my knee brace. So I’m actually doing pretty good
I’m hoping to go home in a few weeks for the weekend, just to see the fam and Kai. I miss all of them and can’t wait to be home for Christmas vacation so I can see them A LOT lol.
That’s all I have for now I guess, I’m too lazy to write anymore and my brain isn’t working anyways.
Later days all!
