Hello and Goodbye

Sorry I haven’t written for a while people. I have been semi-busy and just not in one place long enough to actually sit down and blog. Here is a list of things I will talk about:
- My grandparents an uncle coming down
- Shoe shopping with my brother and the cutest crabs at the pet store
- Kind of confronting DD about some things he says
- and finally New Years
*sigh*
Lets start with my grandparents and my uncle coming down. They came down on Sunday night and stayed until Monday morning. I love having small doses of my grandfather. He’s funny and can talk up a storm… but most people can only handle him in small doses. LOL. My uncle is hilarious and gets along perfectly with Camera. They seem like two peas in a pod. My uncle is something like 6′ 4″ or something of that huge height. We all expect Camera will reach the same height, if not be taller. Camera is already as tall as MM (about 5′ 8″ or so) and he is only 13. I’m 19 and around 5′ 10″- 5′ 11″ so I’m pretty tall as well. Camera keeps trying to tell me he’s my height, when he’s actually still a few inches shorter
I like being taller than him. Even though everyone tells me that once he’s bigger than me I won’t be able to push him around anymore… uhhhh…. riiiiiiiight. I’m his older sister and will always be able to push him around… no matter what! Height does not counter into this
Anyways, we got our lovely gifts and I am soo pleased with mine. I got a purple cover for my MacBook. It makes it look pretty
I also got some super fabulous earrings from my cousin Dana. They are some of the most beautiful things I own earring wise. One of the pairs is just a jumble of stuff and they are my favourite. lol. THANK YOU DANA!
Next item of business: Shoe shopping and the trip to the pet store.
So Camera has declared that he needs a new pair of work boots so he can go in with DD to the college and work in the machine shop on stuff. So we decided that yesterday we would go out and look for new boots for him (as he is getting to be a Big Foot and his feet keep growing). We hit 4 stores on our travels. First we hit Payless (yes DD they do sell work boots) and found some there but they were $70 and Camera didn’t know if wanted to commit to that much money. So we then walked through the mall to the Mark’s Work Wearhouse (MWW). Again we found boots he liked but they were still in the $70-$80 price range. He almost bought a pair there but I convinced him that if we looked at a few other stores and he didn’t find anything he liked we could come back to MWW and pick them up. We drove over to Zellers- no go. Our last stop was Wallmart as the new pet store has opened up and is right beside Wallmart… and I wanted to check it out. The pet store is… ok?? Not great not like the other one at all. They have a few fish, but no other animals or reptiles that I could really see. They did have hermit crabs (which I did have plenty of before in my tank but they died out and I got fish) and the cutest tiny crabs I have ever seen in my life! They were only about an inch or so in length and width and I fell in love with them. Unfortunately, I am unable to buy any at this time since I am still living in Res when I’m not at home… and I am not going to burden my family with the care of my weird pets
So after walking out of the pet store and almost getting run over by some old lady with no patience, we walked into the Wallmart and headed to the shoes. I, of course, had to steer myself away from the women’s shoes or I would have been doomed (hello, my name is Amy and I am a shoe addict, oh and a purse addict, and an earring addict, and, well the list just never ends now does it?). So as I carefully walked away from the pretty shoes we found the work boots. Varying prices from $49 up to, I believe, $150 or so. Me and Camera, being money conscious, grab the cheap pairs first. And it turns out, the cheaper pair is the most comfortable with him. They have steel toes, are oil proof (?), electricity proof (rubber soles) and are proofed against many other things. Needless to say, we went and got what we needed.
We came back and I left a short while later to pick up Kai from work so we could hang out. This Kai with a cellphone this is kind of weird. He can txt me on his breaks and his lunch and stuff and ask me things (like if I wanted to hang out or pick him up from work). I’m still not used to having him txt me on his breaks. LOL. I created a monster.
Love you baby! He keeps asking me what I want to do for New Years. I should let you know that I don’t drink (at all), I don’t dance, I don’t really do anything fun hahahaha. The only thing ruining my goody-two shoes look is that I smoke. Which btw, I am slowly quitting so go me!. So my thing when me and Kai hang out is I generally want to snuggle up to him, watch a movie, or even catch a quick nap. So basically my idea for New Years is not that fabulous. Go play some pool, come back and watch some movies, snuggle and possibly stay at his house for the night, though I will ask MM about it.
Finally my discussion with DD about some improper things he said around the family. He makes jokes and doesn’t understand when they aren’t funny anymore, he makes slights about people and doesn’t realize when he has gone too far. Well this happened when my grandparents and my uncle were over and I was not pleased with him at all. I get embarrassed for the people he talks about and I get rather sensitive about it. I brought it up with MM today and she in turn brought it up when DD got home. He apologized and said he wouldn’t do it anymore. To which I am pleased.
Anyways thats pretty much it for now I believe. I will blog more later.
Later days all!
P.S.
If I don’t write before New Years, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! HAVE A KICK ASS 2009!! (Don’t party too hard
)
